The Empire Area Museum Complex celebrates Heritage Day at the museum on Saturday October 12th, 2019, from 1 to 4 PM. It will be a day filled with music, history, and entertainment for the whole family!
Moomers Ice Cream & Popcorn will be available!!!
View the vintage cars, tractors, hit and miss engines, and more that fill the grounds around the museum. There will be old fashion craft and food demonstrations, making this a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family. Explore the woodworking shop, blacksmith shop, turn of the century saloon, one room school, fire house and barn filled with horse drawn equipment.
The complex has recently added a 44 foot addition to our Billy Beeman Barn with an 8 foot porch running its entire length.
Historic walking tours of the village, led by sbd Tours, will take place during the afternoon. Meet at the Museum at 1:30 or 2:45pm to learn more about the history of Empire.

There will be music of all kinds throughout the afternoon story-telling by Jim and Mary Couling. A beautiful hand crafted quilt by the “Empire Quilters” will be raffled at 3:30PM. Tickets will be available at the event.

A repeat feature this year includes the fantastic collection of hand made Faberge type eggs made in Empire in the 1970’s by Helen Witt. A must see!

The Glen Lake Fire Dept. will also be hosting an Open House next door during the afternoon.
Bring the whole family and help us celebrate our 47th Anniversary!
