The Empire Hill Climb took place on Saturday, September 14, 2019, with the first car starting at 10am driving up Wilco Road in Empire. Race cars were on display and open to spectators all day in downtown Empire.
The Empire Hill Climb originally ran from 1964–1980 and has only increased in popularity since its revival. The 2019 race had 40 competitors spread across 5 classes from vintage race cars to modern rally cars and road race cars. This year’s race is guaranteed to be a crowd favorite.
Last year’s lineup featured a wide variety of race cars including an Austin Healey Sprite, Porsche 944, Datsun 280z with a Mercedes v12 engine, Mazda RX7 FD3S, MG MGB GT, Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith and many more. The sixth year of its revival was bigger and better than ever.
