Glen Lake Community Library Groundbreaking Celebration: May 4, 2019 at 11:00am

Join us at 11:00am on Saturday, May 4, at the Glen Lake Community Library for the official groundbreaking of the new library. The event will feature brief comments from various speakers, refreshments provided by The Friends of the Library, and of course some ceremonial shovels in the ground. In the event of bad weather, we will meet across the street at the Empire Township Hall.

Construction has already begun, and our library has moved to a new location in the meantime! You can access all of the library’s resources at the interim “Limebrary,” located at 12020 S. Leelanau Highway, just south of Front Street on M-22.

The Glen Lake Community Library serves Empire, Glen Arbor, and Kasson townships, and each year more than 17,000 people walk through the library doors. In an effort to better serve the community, the library is currently undergoing renovations to create a larger year-round space that can facilitate more varied programming while improving library services. With the expansion, the Glen Lake Community Library will become an even more vibrant community hub, enabling guests of all ages to utilize the space for years to come.
