Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak: 15 Year Anniversary Bash

Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak is celebrating15 years of business, community and pure fun this year! They are throwing an anniversary bash the last weekend of June, so come join them to kick off summer properly!

F R I D A Y :

Liam Kaiser Creative surf photography exhibit opens at the newest addition to the village, Blue Heron Mercantile, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm with music by “Phabies” beginning at 6:00pm.

Then, waltz down to the shop for an outdoor screening of our short film “Serendipitous; The Story of Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak” followed by an epic surf flick (movie TBD) in the green space. Bring your own chair or blankets & BYOB!

S A T U R D A Y :

10:00am: 15% off / $15 off / 15 cents off goods and rentals throughout the shop A L L D A Y (10am-7pm)

5:00pm Live music by rockin’ young band, Hoom, our dude Zackery Cole

Presentation on Great Lakes advocacy & the fight against Line 5 by Groundwork Center / Great Lakes Business Network

Raffle every hour including an extra-specially crafted longboard by Migration Surf

7:00pm: Venture down to the Empire Public Beach at the lighthouse for sunset and refreshments on the wall (bring your watercraft to take an evening paddle!)

9:00am Beach cleanup & our weekly sip & dip/ “Swim Club” plunge in Lake Michigan at Empire Public Beach by the lighthouse
